Meet Our Staff & Guides
Debbie Jacobsthe founder of Explorations in Travel has been involved with organizing and leading women's travel adventures for 20 years. She has worked internationally as a mountain and whitewater raft guide, been an instructor for the Outdoor Leadership Program, taught first aid and CPR, is a certified SCUBA diver, storyteller and dog lover. Debbie is currently volunteering as the volunteer coordinator at her local humane society.
Pauline (Peachy) Healeyhas been leading women's travel vacations for over ten years. After raising eight children, Pauline had organizational and management skills (not to mention a great sense of humor) worthy of any corporate executive. If you haven't been on a trip yet with her you're in for a treat!
Heidi Krantzis our paddling and cross country ski instructor extraordinaire. Running Umiak Outfitters in Stowe, Vermont takes up most of her time but we're lucky to get her to lead trips for us now and again.
Becca Brownis currently teaching high school science in Atlanta. We met her when she was working as a raft guide in western Massachusetts. She's our southern connection for those great vacations folks can't get enough of.
Lindy Thompsonloves to travel and share her experiences with others. She had lived in Ireland, Austria and has traveled throughout Europe. While her daughter was in college, she bought a trailer and worked throughout the U.S.
Vivian Harveyhas traveled extensively in Latin America. She has lived in Mexico for over 10 years. With her experience and interest in art and the roles of women in the countries she visits, she makes a great guide for our visits to Central America.
Arlette Gerbera French teacher, born in France, now living in Minnesota, has created a unique kalidescope of France for us. We can't wait!
We first met Lara Mendelin the forests of Costa Rica. Our trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos will mirror her sparkle and energy.
