Note from the President
"I started Explorations in Travel to provide students with
the opportunity to travel in an active, educational way, that
was safe, fun and unique. Small groups, led by professional leaders,
create less impact on an environment and culture. Our format
allows students to become immersed in a culture rather than being
just spectators.
Most of us have impressions of places we have never been and of people we have never met. We have seen films and documentaries and believe we know what a place is like before we have even been there! It is exciting to watch as students have their expectations challenged.
I am also committed to making our programs accessible to all students and designing affordable itineraries to interesting destinations which help stimulate students' curiosity and desire to learn. History, art, science and culture are not locked up in a museum or in a textbook. I want students to discover the connections between their own lives, their own ways of life and other countries and cultures."
