Bulgaria is a country rich in history, culture and nature. On our adventure you will have the chance to explore the best of all three. Our guides have the special connections and contacts that make a great tour unique and out of the ordinary, and we wouldn't have it any other way!

Bulgaria’s civilization dates back seven millennia, much of which is well preserved to this day. There are still remnants from the Thracians, Byzantines, Romans, and Ottomans. We will see not one, but four sites listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List including Boyana Church , Rila Monastery, Kazanluk Tomb, and Sveshtari Tomb. We will travel back in time to the legendary Secret Holy place of Dyonisius in Perperikon. We will feel the history of the Old Town of Plovdiv where one of Europe’s best preserved Roman theatres still hosts events. Plovdiv is Bulgaria’s cultural capital and is older than Rome. We will visit the town of Veliko Tarnovo which dates back to the 3rd millennium BC and houses Tsarevetz Castle and Trapezitsa Fortress.

In Bulgaria we will immerse ourselves in the mixture of cultures and ethnic groups which are the result of Bulgaria’s location as a crossroad between Europe and Asia. In the towns of Melnik, Leshten, Kossovo and Arbanassi we will see homes that are beautiful examples of Ottoman architecture, which you cannot even find in modern day Turkey. During our journey we will be welcomed into the homes of locals to share their customs, food and stories. We will meet with a variety of people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
A trip to Bulgaria would not be complete if we did not take the time to enjoy the mountains and countryside including a day hike in Vitusha Mountains, a visit to a winery for some tasting and, if you like, a bit of pampering at a spa in Sandanaski.

The last three nights of our trip will be spent at the royal residence in the Black Sea town of Varna. Here we are free to relax and enjoy the sea and sunshine or venture out for more explorations.
