Autumn in New England, there's nothing quite like it! I will admit that I surprise myself by looking forward to wintertime. And what's not to look forward to when it means a visit to the Caribbean and snorkeling in it's tropical blue waters!
If it's about time you had yourself a break be sure to check out all of our adventures on our website!
Manatees & More!
There is nothing quite like looking into the eyes of a creature like a manatee. Crystal River is a breeding ground for West Indian Manatees. In the winter months they come inland in search of the warmer water in the bays for breeding, and Crystal River is fed by more than thirty natural springs which keep the water at a constant 72 degrees. You'll learn about these gentle giants as you swim among them. What a thrill that will be!
December 19-23, 2009
An added benefit to this trip is that you can escape from the pre-holiday madness!

Going Paperless in 2009
Beginning in 2009 Explorations in Travel stopped mailing out a paper brochure. You can find all of our offerings online on our website. Updates on our adventures will be included in our monthly newsletter.
New England Canopy Tour
Zoar Outdoor in Charlemont, MA has added to their great recreational opportunities this year, they've built a series of zip lines high in the trees at their base. This is a fantastic family adventure for children 8 and older.
The National Parks: America's Best Idea
I second Ken Burn's sentiment that our National Park system has been the best idea the government has come up with. I like free libraries and schools too, but my heart soars when I'm in one of our parks.
Beginning in September PBS will begin airing the six-part series.
Travel Sure Has Changed
In 1609 Henry Hudson crossed the Atlantic and explored the river which later took his name. New York has been celebrating the 400th year anniversary of Hudson's journey culminating in a replica of his vessel, the Half Moon, sails up to Albany. The longest pedestrian bridge over water will open in October in Poughkeepsie. Put on your walking shoes for this 1.25 mile stroll.Travel Resource For Women
