One of the online services I use is a news search which will send me articles or websites which include the search terms I've requested. One term I search for is 'women over 40'. It comes up often and when they're informative I share them with you. Today I got, from three different sources, an article about the number one concern for women over 40. Guess what is worrying women most these days, nevermind, I better tell you so you get your priorities straight-'aging skin'.
Imagine, this is what the media is telling the world is of greatest concern to us! When I was a teenager I was suppose to be most concerned about how fat or skinny I was, whether my breasts were too big or too small, and now when most of us have come to terms with who we are and hopefully accepted our bodies, or at least gotten over obsessing about them, we're suppose to worry about our skin, which, at least for the part that is on our faces, can't be concealed by vertical stripes or baggy trousers.
I'm not implying that we don't need to take care of our bodies, including our skin, but for women over 40 there is surely much bigger and important news. When I am on an Explorations in Travel trip one of the highlights for me is hearing about the lives and interests of the women traveling with me. We talk about a wide range of topics and while skin care may come up (pass the sunscreen please) it never is the number one concern among us.
I'll get off my soap box now. The thought of packing my bags and heading off on an adventure is far more appealing than thinking about whether I should exfoliate today or not.

Puerto Rico
I have had to put our March trip to Puerto Rico on hold, sorry about that folks. However if there are enough folks that would still be interested I might be able to make something happen. It's a fun trip that includes San Juan, the rainforest and the island of Vieques with the most breathtaking and remarkable bioluminescent bay. I can send you last year's itinerary so you can see what it's about, the dates are open based on when people can travel and when I can get the rooms. Email me with questions.
